I am the Executive Director for the Academy for Leadership Excellence, Raleigh, NC and am planning for 2011 conferences to which we invite national leaders. In 2011, we have Alan Hirsh in March, Bill George, May and would ask you to consider being our resource leader/s for either September 2011 or November 2011. The Academy is a non-profit, connected with the N.C.Conference United Methodist Church but its vision is ecumenical and national. In addition to “Days of Learning,” to which national leaders are invited to lead conferences for both laity and clergy, we have a leadership development track for Academy fellows (a two year leadership community for emerging leaders), coaching for clergy, laity and congregations as well as individual leadership courses. In 2010 we are having Sue Nilson Kibbey, Jim Harnish, Jorge Acevedo and Mark Beeson of Granger Community Church. Please let me know of your availability and interest. We would be honored to have you lead us in this vision of being an “externally focused church.” The Academy gives priority to developing practical ministry leadership skills sets as a supplement to the theological and theoretical training in seminaries. You can e-mail me here or at the Academy bgentle@nccumc.org. My home address is preferable. Hope God leads you to come to Raleigh in fall 2011! Brian Gentle (Phone — 919-489-2174) May 7, 2010 PS: Please let me know ASAP!
